SILVER RUGGERI

My Roots
I am Silvestro Ruggeri, known as Silver. Born in Sicily in 1979, I developed a lifelong devotion to visual arts, growing as a self-taught artist inspired by the painters and essayists of the past, who shaped my artistic method.
My Path
My work thrives on the contrast between a rational mindset — shaped by technical studies — and fervent creativity. This duality drives me to constantly experiment with materials and techniques, seeking a logical-creative equilibrium to give my ideas a finished form in unique artworks. For years, I pursued this passion as a hobby, until I decided to restart my professional life to align it with who I truly am.

From Desk To Stage
The turning point was a ‘Set Design with AutoCAD’ course, which opened the doors to stage production. I have collaborated with numerous theatrical production companies and workshops, eventually expanding my practice to prestigious five-star resorts across Egypt and Sardinia. In these environments, starting from technical sketches, I created immersive scenic environments and functional props, often leading multi-ethnic teams. These experiences taught me that scenography is a language of spatial storytelling, where every element serves a narrative purpose.
My Style
Whenever possible my approach is grounded in a philosophy of creative recycling and reuse. I see potential where others see waste: the ability to reimagine discarded materials and grant them new life is both an ecological commitment and a creative necessity. This methodology defines all my work: from theatrical sets to commissioned fine art. Today, I work as a freelance artist, creating works that reflect this integrated vision of craftsmanship, collaboration, and conscious creativity. I let my images speak: they carry the stories of the materials, the hands, and the spaces where art takes form.
